Telephone:
574-276-7822 this is a cell phone, which goes with me on the
road so itÕs the easiest way to reach me Òlive.Ó I check the message center
often, so this is the most reliable.
Home phone: 574-288-4326, leave a message.
Wednesdays and Thursdays IÕm at World Folk Music in Chicago,
teaching. Cell phone reception is lousy, so call there direct: 773-779-7059
Performing:
Clubs, festivals, workshops, sessions, weddings, funerals, union rallies, school appearances. If you want to know what IÕve done, see resume. I have a club-size sound system, could get larger P.A. by arrangement. I am a very competent live sound mixer.
Competent feis musician for hire! Fiddler, and/or accompanist. (Are you adventurous? Try hammered dulcimer!) I play all the set dances, including the eight "new" ones. While playing for set dancers I keep the written music before me to avoid mistakes and dropped measures. I operate with a metronome (in my ear if it's loud) to get the tempo - so important for competition - exactly right. I have 25 years experience with reels, jigs, slip sigs, treble jigs and hornpipes. I have sound equipment if necessary. Feiseanna in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky are within driving distance, so I can save you money - and stress - with early arrival. I've played for Trinity, World Academy, Michigan, Pat Roche, etc. Try something new at your feis: The night before, when everybody's coming in, wandering around looking for something to do, I can do a show, playing and singing on multiple instruments, in your hotel hospitality room. I can set up a Power Point with lyrics to songs and initiate a serious "sing-along."
Teaching:
Hammered
dulcimer, fiddle, beginner tin whistle, bodhr‡n, accompanist styles on guitar,
bouzouki and piano. One-on-one, families, groups. I really love teaching
parents and children together. Parents ought to store up fun for those
retirement/ empty nest years, and they can practice with their children (and
perform with them! I do.)
Private, one-on-one, small groups:
In South Bend at the
St. PatrickÕs Celtic Center, St. PatrickÕs Parish. Call me on the cell phone:
574-276-7822 IÕm there on Mondays and Tuesdays, and will expand times and days if needed.
In
Chicago, call World Folk Music, located at 1909 E. 103rd Street,
next to the ÒBlue LineÓ CTA stop. IÕm there on Wednesday and Thursday and
occasionally have openings. Talk to John Devens (owner) about scheduling and
prices. 773-779-7059.
